great scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, lagoon fly-fishing,

San Miguel is Cozumel’s main town and it offers
food and drink to suit all tastes.
The cuisine ranges from a perfect blend of Mexican
and Caribbean tastes, to more traditional international dishes include
pizza and sushi.
Fresh seafood dishes are a specialty and no visit is complete without
trying the famous local clawless lobster.
You can even visit the Hacienda Antigua tequila center
to find out how Mexicans make their national drink (and try some too of
course!) |
At night you can see the fiery sun set over the glistening Caribbean
Sea before heading to one of the island’s countless bars or night
clubs.
During the day you may want to find some gifts in numerous shops
offering Mexican handcrafts, hammocks, ceramics, leather, straw hats,
souvenirs and jewelry.
Around February every year Cozumel has a spectacular Carnival, with
over 130 years of tradition it is thought to be the oldest in Mexico. |

The town of San Miguel has a colorful daily market
which is a pleasant place to browse for more unusual presents.
From Cozumel it is also possible to make many excursions.
You can snorkel,
ride ATVs, take a jeep ride or visit ruins on the island itself.
|
| Or make a day trip to the mainland where you can visit famous Mayan
ruins at Tulum, Coba or Chichen Itza.
The more adventurous may want to go deep sea fishing or even swim
with dolphins.
And if the sea’s reefs don’t offer enough for hardened scuba
divers why not try diving in one of Yucatan’s many fresh water
cenotes instead? |

Great Kiteboarding Climate
The tropical Caribbean climate in Cozumel means you
are guaranteed good weather almost any time of year:
From March to June the skies are usually sunny and it's almost guaranteed
that a good sea breeze will be blowing. From July to October is rainy season, so you may get
some cloud and rain, but squalls mean wind!
|
November to February is a bit cooler but still sunny, and
the Nortes are here, which mean cold fronts coming down from the north
and high wind for great riding!

Mexico information site.
